Rustenburg to host 2023 Heritage Symposium

The next HASA Symposium will be held on the 12th, 13th and 14th of October 2023; a full programme is being planned by the Magaliesberg Association for Culture & Heritage.

Come and join us for an exploration of the history of the Boekenhoutfontein Farm, Kruger family history, the Lutheran Mission History (Hermannsburg, Saron (Phokeng) Kroondal), the churches, synagogues and mosques, hotels and halls of Rustenburg, Rustenburg history and architectural history, geology and rocks that gong like bells, Marico history, Bafokeng history, photographic history, archaeological sites and a visit to a local cave, Mzilikazi, the art of Ellie Holm, 1st and 2nd Boer War history and more.

Talks are planned for the mornings followed by afternoon excursions.

Encounter the heritage heroes of Kedar and unpack their histories; go for an optional game drive; experience one of the finest private South African War museums in South Africa; visit the Kruger Houses museum complex and even explore the family graveyard.
